Desk to Sewing Table

Everytime I sew, I take over the kitchen table so that it cannot be used for it's intended purpose. So when I saw this beauty on craigslist (for free) it was worth the half hour drive to go get it:

I don't even have to refinish it.

This is the drawer for the keyboard to go on.

I put some nails in it for thread to go on.


Now I feel like I need to buy more thread!

"C"-the final product!

Do you remember this pink "C" I had found at TJ Maxx a long time ago? I'd almost forgotten, too.

But, since we've been working on the dresser, I figured I'd practice glazing.

Following the instructions found here: http://www.allthingsthrifty.com/2010/03/glazing-furniture-101.html I let the glaze sit on for around 20-30 minutes, and I did 3 coats. This is the end result:

Dresser-stripped

Doesn't the wood look cool once the paint was off?


Unfortunately, we're still going to have to paint it because we have to patch; one of the drawers has a crack:

But I still think the wood looks really neat!
